“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10
If you walk with God long enough, you’ll discover something uncomfortable: those who speak truth often become targets. The prophets knew this. Jesus knew this. The apostles knew this. And if you carry the Kingdom, you will feel it too.
The enemy doesn’t waste his time on the silent. He targets those who threaten his darkness. Elijah called down fire from heaven — and Jezebel unleashed fury against him. Jeremiah spoke God’s word — and was thrown into a pit. Jesus healed the sick and spoke with authority — and the religious leaders plotted His death.
Why? Because truth is dangerous. Light exposes what darkness wants to hide.
Many men interpret spiritual attack as a sign they’ve done something wrong. But more often than not, it’s evidence they’re standing in the right place. If you are following Jesus, the target on your back is real. But so is the power of the One who walks with you.
Jesus warned His disciples, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” (John 15:18) This isn’t a reason to retreat — it’s a call to stand.
Brother, don’t lose heart when resistance comes. Heaven has always marked its messengers. Your assignment will be contested, but it will also be protected. Just as God surrounded Elisha with fiery chariots, He surrounds you.
Your courage to speak truth in a compromising world matters. Prophets may have targets on their backs — but they also carry Heaven’s authority.
