When the Enemy Attacks Early

October 17, 2025

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10

Have you ever wondered why the pain started so young? Why the rejection, abuse, or betrayal hit you before you even understood what was happening? Why you were wounded in childhood, when you should have been protected?

It’s because the enemy fears destiny. He knows that if he can cripple a man’s heart early, he can keep him limping for life. Pharaoh tried to kill Moses in infancy. Herod slaughtered children when Jesus was born. The strategy hasn’t changed. Satan strikes at the seed, hoping to prevent the harvest.

For many of us, those early wounds became the filter through which we see the world: “I’m not enough. I can’t trust anyone. God must not care.” Those lies take root young and follow us into adulthood, shaping choices, relationships, and even how we see God.

But the fact that you are here, reading this, is proof that hell’s plan failed. You survived. And survival itself is a sign of God’s hand on your life. The thief came to destroy you, but the Good Shepherd kept you alive for a purpose.

Brother, do not misinterpret your early pain as proof of God’s absence. It is evidence of your calling. The enemy does not waste ammunition on men with no assignment. The harder he hit you, the more he feared who you would become.

Jesus promised that He came to give life — not a half-life, not a scarred existence you just endure, but life in abundance. The childhood wound doesn’t have to define you. In Christ, it can become the very place where His power shines brightest.

The question is not whether you were attacked — it’s whether you will rise. Don’t let your story end in defeat. Take back what was stolen. Walk in the fullness of life Jesus purchased for you.
